Comprehensive School Safety Ecosystems (CSSE) Project with Prudence Foundation
Since 2019, Save the Children Philippines, Prudence Foundation, and the Department of Education have been working together to combine resources, networks, and expertise to transform systems, strengthen capacity, and empower children so fewer school days are lost due to impacts of disasters and emergencies, including the impacts of climate change.
Now on its fifth year of implementation, the Comprehensive School Safety Ecosystems (CSSE) Project was successfully piloted in Region 3 and is currently being rolled out in Region 5, with one of the digital tools we have developed, RADaR, already being used at national scale to improve disaster response and preparedness.
Last May, members of the Project Steering Committee visited Bulihan National High School in Malolos, Bulacan to observe the highlights of the ecosystem project’s successful implementation in Region 3.
We are grateful for the active role Prudence Foundation has played throughout the project, leveraging their expertise and experience on Comprehensive School Safety to make the national education system more resilient to disasters and hazardous events.
