The Red Alert Campaign is an initiative of Save the Children across Asia, including the Philippines. It aims to bring together children and youth, and help them have an enhanced voice in national, regional, and international efforts to prevent climate and environmental catastrophe in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
Save the Children Philippines has been actively supporting the Red Alert Campaign since 2020 through activities that provide children and youth with meaningful opportunities and safe and inclusive platforms for participation, knowledge exchange, and action towards issues on climate and environment crisis.
With the support of Save the Children Sweden and Söderberg & Partners, the Philippines’ Red Alert Campaign aims to:
1. Enhance children and youth’s understanding of climate change and its impacts;
2. Mobilize children and youth to increase participation in climate action;
3. Popularize children’s voices in demanding accountability and immediate action from the government and businesses to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis.
The global climate crisis is a child rights crisis.
Together, we can turn this around, create a better world, and fulfil the right of children to live in a clean and safe environment – but we need to listen to children and jump into immediate action.
