Among the greatest gifts we can give children is our time. We don’t need to be “full-time humanitarians” to leave long-lasting impact in children’s lives.
We can simply share whatever we have. It could be our time, effort, and knowledge. And remember, no donation is ever too small or too big to make a difference.
Meet Denvie, Save the Children’s Media and Communications Officer in Visayas. Before joining Save the Children, Denvie had a full-time corporate job. But this didn’t stop her from helping children. On top of her job, she volunteered to support children’s programs.
Her first taste of development work was in West Africa, where she stayed for 6 months as volunteer for Save the Children.
When Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) happened, Denvie flew home to be part of Save the Children’s relief operations. Soon after, Denvie stayed in Visayas for good. Three years later, she’s still doing what she does best.
At 26, Denvie has told hundreds of stories uncovering children’s issues. She uses communications as aid.
