The support of donors has been crucial in the lifesaving work Save the Children Philippines has been delivering in the last 40 years. We are grateful to receive assistance from various groups coming from different backgrounds but there is a specific kind of donor that has a special place in our heart – the children.
At a young age, these children are already initiating their own fundraisers to help ensure that their fellow children can continue to learn, stay healthy, and be protected from harm. This International Children’s Day, we are sharing the inspiring stories of child fundraisers who are doing their best to help make this world a better place.
Nord Anglia International School Manila (NAIS) Manila
Year 4 students of Nord Anglia International School Manila were asked to read a book about the story of a Syrian refugee starting school in England. Inspired by this, the students wanted to know about the extent of the refugee crisis in the Philippines and how they can help.
After reaching out to Save the Children, these students decided to start their own fundraiser to help children, especially those in Marawi, continue their education. The students dedicated their time and effort in writing letters and reaching out to parents, teachers and family friends. They explained how difficult life was for the children of Marawi and asked for small donations for their cause. In their art class, students also designed campaign posters to complete their SimplyGiving page. As of this writing, they have already exceeded their fundraising target and have donated over Php 100,000.
The Enopia Kids
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Enopia family started their mobile café business and wanted to donate a portion of their sales to help children continue learning. Each family member has a role to play in this initiative with dad in charge of the baking, mom taking care of purchasing and accounting, and their kids, Shane and Uno, managing their monthly donations.
Shane and Uno wanted to help kids who were struggling to access education as distance learning became the norm due to the pandemic. Upon consultation with their family, they decided to donate 10% of their monthly earnings to support Save the Children’s Project ARAL which provides children with access to resources for alternative learning. To date, they have already donated over Php 47,000 to this cause.

Students from other schools such as Philippine Science High School, Brent International School Manila, and La Salle Greenhills have also donated to support Save the Children programs.
